Recap of Today's Service

This morning in church we were blessed with opportunity to hear the guys talk about their trip to Mexico. It was great to hear their stories, worship with them, and share some (ok, many - for my part) tears.

Bill shared part of Psalm 139 with us. It was kind of the "theme chapter" for the weeks leading up to and during the trip.

"O, Lord, You have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit and when I rise up; You discern my thoughts from afar.
You search out my path and my lying down and are aquainted with all my ways.
Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.
You hem me in, behind and before, and lay Your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.
Where shall I go from Your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, You are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, You are there!
If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me." (ESV)

Isn't that just the most amazing thing?!? God really does know everything about me - it's a pretty hard concept for me to grasp.

We sang "This is My Father's World" before the guys even spoke and it tied in so well with all of their stories. Here is my favorite verse...

"This is my Father's world
Oh, let me never forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong
God is the Ruler yet

This is my Father's world
Why should my heart be sad?
The Lord is King, let the heavens ring
GOD REIGNS, LET THE EARTH BE GLAD!"

Amazing, amazing, AMAZING! Love it! I really don't have many words to say - I just know this song and that chapter hit me this morning like never before.

I'd talk more about the guys' stories from Mexico, but I know I wouldn't do them justice. You'll have to ask them yourselves if you haven't heard them.
