New/Old Purchases

This summer I decided I am going to go to yard sales as much as possible. Usually, I don't end up finding much but once in awhile you get a few "treasures." When we went to the yard sale at Grace Community last week I found a bunch of really good things.

The picture frames are actually stocking holders. Isn't that the best idea?!? I love that you can change the pictures each year. I was excited. I don't know what we'll do if we have more than 2 kids, but we'll figure something out. The bowl isn't my typical "style," but I still fell in love with it. It's interesting and I think it could really work. The two glass containters in the back I'm going to use in the kitchen for pasta or sauces or something like that. I was very excited! I like different things - especially if they're old (or supposedly old) and at fantastic prices. I spent about $6 for all of that! I'm really excited to go to some more and find some interesting pieces that others probably don't have (I don't know why that's a big deal to me).

My newest addiction is Etsy. After hearing Tara talk about canisters (and her sending me some links of ones she thought I might like), I decided to do a search of my own (after I didn't win an auction on Ebay). I fell in love with these the moment I saw them. I figured it was meant to be since there is both a coffee canister and a tea canister. Here is one close-up:

Once I clean it up a bit and add a coat of black paint to the lid, they'll be as "good as new." They're from the '50s, but they're in pretty good condition. I am so excited!

Oh my goodness, I love those canisters even better than the ones you were first bidding on...glad you didn't win or you wouldn't have gotten those adorable ones!
