Here I Am

So, here I am in sunny Florida. I am so glad I came. I feel relaxed already and it's only been 2 days. I don't think I could have taken much more of the stress at home too much longer. So much has happened so fast this past year - and it's been almost as long since I've even had a break.

Anyway, we made it to Florida - even with the rain in Maryland. Guess what?!? It's 90 degrees and sunny here! I've been to the pool every day and gone for a run every night. It's been awesome. The weather definitely helped my mood A LOT!

We've been to visit my grandfather every day. He's steadily improving. He goes to physical therapy every day and, hopefully, he'll start walking again. He told my dad he just wants to come home, but that can't happen until he's started walking and eating. Honestly? I'm just glad he knew who I was. I remember that was really hard for me with my grandmother not knowing who I was. As soon as he said my name, I really just wanted to cry.

He seems so week, though - not what I'm used to. I'm used to him being up and about and laughing a lot. Sometimes, it's hard for him to talk, but he's gradually getting his sense of humor back.

I'm sorry for the last post. I'm sure I sounded very self-centered, but that's where I was at over the weekend. Now, I am glad I am here. I'm enjoying relaxing and getting some time to myself.

Time for the pool! I'm getting a tannnnnnnn!
